We are delighted to be celebrating World Book Day here at SPSL today, Thursday 4th March 2021. Over the last 24 years, World Book Day has become firmly established as Ireland’s biggest annual event promoting the enjoyment of books and reading.
The main aim of World Book Day is to encourage students to explore the pleasure of books and reading. It aims to change lives through a love of books and shared reading.
Alongside celebrating on World Book Day itself, the World Book Day website www.worldbookday.com is constantly updated with reading recommendations, ideas, resources, activities and competitions for students of all ages all year round.
All students have been provided with a digital version of the €1.50 book tokens which will allow them to get any one of the 13 books listed in the following link for FREE https://www.book2look.com/bookwall/ie6pjjbzlw(worldbookday.com) OR €1.50 off any book or audiobook costing €3.99 or more in participating bookshops and supermarkets.
We also have a COMPETITION running over the next few days with a great prize up for grabs. The competition called ‘We read too! Can you guess who?’ asks students to match the teacher with their favourite book. Details have been posted on each year group team. Good luck to everyone!
