Under the guidance of Fr. Pat and Abbot Richard Purcell, the group delved into the rich Cistercian history of the monk’s time in Rathmore from 1831 to 1837. They learned about the Cistercian traditions, monastic way of life, experienced midday prayer, explored the café and bookshop, and walked along one of the pilgrim paths. It was a truly memorable day.
