The Curriculum at Senior Cycle level aims to provide an educational environment conducive to the on-going realisation of the full human development of each student during their final years in Scoil Phobail Sliabh Luachra.
Balance
- Development of moral and spiritual growth through Religious Education.
- Development of emotional and social growth through Social, Personal and Health Education.
- Development of physical growth through Physical Education.
- Development of intellectual growth through academic subjects.
- Development of technical and scientific growth through Computer Science and the Sciences.
Content
At Senior Cycle level the following subjects are compulsory for all students:
English, Irish, Mathematics, PE, Career Guidance, Religious Education, S.P.H.E.
Four further subjects are studied from the following list:

The syllabus for all subjects is prescribed by the Department of Education and Skills.
Methods of Assessment
- Regular assessment in each subject throughout the year.
- Christmas and Summer Examinations followed by Reports.
- Leaving Certificate Examination at the end of Sixth Year (Pres in February).
