At SPSL we teach French or German in Junior Cycle.
In 1st Year you will study French or German from September to October and then you sample the other language from November to December. You will then make a choice between French or German having completed a common assessment in both languages and will continue to study your chosen language up to the end of Junior Cycle.
In learning a modern language, you will engage with the 4 main skills: oral, aural, reading comprehension and written production. Topics studied include: the area where you live, school life and leisure activities.
What is the MFL Junior Cycle exam like?
In MFL:
- you will listen to and answer questions on conversations, news items etc. in French/German
- you will read and answer questions on texts like advertisements, articles, recipes and celebrity profiles in French/German
